Irvin Foster

COLCHESTER - Irvin Foster, 80, 75 Colt Road, died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday (April 20, 2006) at home.

He was born March 18, 1926, in Macomb, the son of Marshall and Dorothy Foster.

He married Ruby Vollbracht in 1984.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Mike (and Alice) of Donnellson, Iowa, Kenneth of New Orleans, La., Steve (and Brenda) of Bushnell, and Ron (and Jill) of Macomb; four stepsons, Jim Vollbracht, Kirkwood, Gene Vollbracht, Gilson, and Carl Vollbracht and Dick Vollbracht, both of Monmouth; a stepdaughter, Connie Heilener, Galesburg; four brothers, Robert of Bristol, Ind., Max of Macomb, and Ben and Jerry, both of Springfield; two sisters, Marsha Adams, Macomb, and Janice Webb of Texas; and 51 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

He lived most of his life in Macomb. He worked at NTN Bower as an engineer for 13 years, retiring in 1988.

He was a Navy veteran serving in World War II from 1943 until 1946.

He was a member of Macomb American Legion Post 6.

He enjoyed horses and liked to fish.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home, Macomb. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Macomb.

Memorials may be made to MDH Hospice or McDonough County Humane Society.
