CREVE COUER - Loren Dean Markley, 74, formerly of Fairview and Canton, died at 5:59 p.m. Thursday (April 20, 2006) in Methodist Medical Center, Peoria.

He was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Ellisville, the son of Arthur and Ethel Mahr Cooper.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Markley, Peoria; two sons, Terry of Creve Couer, and Brad (and Debbie) Markley, Bartonville. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Dean, two brothers and a sister.

He retired from Caterpillar in 1987 after 38 years of service.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Oaks-Hines Funeral Home, Canton, with the Rev. Jimmy Williams officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
