KEWANEE - Betty L. Currier, 84, Kewanee, died at 2:32 a.m. Monday (April 24, 2006) in Kewanee Care Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 20, 1921, in Logensport, Ind., the daughter of Walter and Bessie B. (Shirley) Smith.

She married Robert C. Currier on Sept. 12, 1942, in Little Rock, Ark.

Surviving are three sons, Robert S. (and Mary) Currier, Naperville, John (and Diane) Currier, Mendota, and Doug (and Annette) Currier, Kewanee; a daughter, Dale (and Karen) Stickle, Wataga; a sister, Ila (and George) Look, Pekin; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.

She graduated from Kewanee High School in 1939.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and was an election judge for many years.

She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning and baking.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Rux Funeral Home, with the Revs. Kevin Siscoe and Brian Currier officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
